Sophie Pakenham M-Chiro (Hons) D.C.
MSc (Hons) Chiropractic
Sophie Pakenham grew up in Wiltshire and has ‘returned’ to work at The Swindon Chiropractic Clinic following the completion of her Chiropractic course in 2015, graduating from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic University of South Wales, with a Masters in Chiropractic Degree. Prior to this, Sophie worked at the clinic as a ‘Saturday’ receptionist for several years. She first became interested in chiropractic at the age of 13, having sustained an injury during trampoline training. From the chiropractic care both she and her family members had received, she saw how chiropractic could significantly improve one’s quality of life, and assist in recovering from a multitude of injuries. She has seen and is now a part of various clinical successes that occur among the patient population of Swindon Chiropractic Clinic.
Sophie spent the final clinic year of her degree in South Wales treating a variety of conditions, ranging from pregnancy-related back pain to sports injuries. She provided pitch-side chiropractic treatment to the referees at the European Touch Rugby Championships. Sophie encourages the use of exercises between clinic visits to complement treatments, and thus encourages patients to take an active role in managing their conditions. Sophie has a keen professional interest in treating pregnancy-related back pain and providing paediatric care. Sophie has completed extra-curricular courses, in dry needling and Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) and utilises a mixture of Spinal Manipulative Techniques, Dry Needling, and Soft Tissue skills.
Sophie is a Member of The Royal College of Chiropractors and The British Chiropractic Association.
