Jan Blankenstein D.C.
Jan Blankenstein is the founder of Swindon Chiropractic Clinic and despite
the name is a native Scot from Kirkcaldy. He graduated from Anglo-European
College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth in 1981, and set up in practice in
Winifred Street in Old Town. Chiropractic was little known at that time but
he steadily built up the practice till sheer lack of space necessitated the
move to Stratton in 1993.
He sees himself as a "jobbing" chiropractor, willing to tackle any appropriate
condition but has a particular interest in ergonomics. He has also been
involved in continuing education for new graduates for over fifteen years
and was elected a Fellow of the College of Chiropractors for his work in
the profession. He is a Provisional Registration Training tutor and was
for several years Director of PRT for the profession.
He has little time for interests outside the profession but will admit
to a passion for machines of every description from wristwatches to battleships.
It was his fascination with how things work that led him into Chiropractic.
He also describes himself as a "weather freak" and believes there is no
such thing as "bad weather" - it's just inconvenient sometimes!
